I remember hearing about Bobby being on the trading block. So why not try to shore up the position before the draft, so we can go def tackle, saftey with our first two picks? any thoughts?

you might want to change your thread title... it's a bit misleading. It's not a rumor, but rather something you would like to see.

Anyway, Carpenter can be a value to some team... if the price is right. He doesn't warrent a high draft pick - not based on his production. Perhaps a 5-7 round draft pick if any.

title changed , sorry if i mislead anyone , not my intentions.

thats about what i thought around a third round pick

He was a 1st round pick 2 years ago, no way he is traded for a 5-7 round pick

He hasnt cracked the lineup so IMO he's worth about a 4th or 5th. I thought he would have won a starting job by now, but we can now look back and see that AJ Hawk MADE that OSU LB corps. Carpenter appears average.

carp was drafted as an olb, moved to ilb, then back to olb when greg ellis got hurt for the year, then back to ilb when wade was hired.

for whatever reason, he isnt given the chance to produce - except on special teams. when he was given time in parcells' last year, he actually did pretty good against the falcons and the seahawks in the playoffs.

Let's not trade for another average LB from Dallas, we still have one on the roster.

Carpenter hasn't shown himself to be very good, I can't imagine bringing him in as anything but a backup. J. Sullivan was a first round pick too.

I was thinking about this this morning. I would love to trade for him (late round, 5 highest)

Albi, lets not forget that fujita played for dallas also, and he is above average
