I get tired of it being excused as, "he's just very competitive.." You can still be competitive and not be a jerk to your teammates, coaches, and opposing players (see Drew Brees). Makes you wonder if his fits contribute to the favorable calls he gets. Maybe the refs don't want to have to hear it.

The only time I ever saw Brees really tear into a teammate was Jeremy Shockey. To his credit, Shockey took the castigation and became a better player.

As others have brought up too. He only congratulates and gives the opposing team credit on a good game is when he wins. Otherwise, off to the locker room he goes without a word. I guarantee after Washington game if they would have lost he would not have shown his face after the game.

That's another thing about Drew that I've always admired, he never loses it. He's just as competitive and just as driven but he's always been able to maintain his composure. Rarely do you see him begging for flags and complaining about getting hit. He has more dignity than that.

And the biggest thing is that he doesn't show up his teammates. He'll talk to his guys on the sideline but he's not chewing guys out on the field and ranting raving because they ran the wrong route.
