Brandin Cooks admits he was frustrated after Sunday's 49-21 win over the Los Angeles Rams at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
Cooks, who had caught at least two passes in each of his 35 career games before Sunday, was not targeted in 36 attempts by Drew Brees against the Rams.
Brees and Saints coach Sean Payton have both said Cooks' lack of work was primarily a result of the coverages the Rams rolled his way, but the wide receiver was still frustrated by the lack of work.
"I feel like the opportunities will come, but at the same time, this is a very emotional game," Cooks said. "Every once in a while you’ve got to express that, and you’ve got to express what you want. You know, closed mouths don’t get fed."
Cooks chalked up his frustration to his competitive fire.
The third-year receiver out of Oregon State, who ranks second on the Saints with 51 catches for 736 yards and six touchdowns, has never been shy about his aspirations.
