2016 Saints are 1-6 when they target Cooks 8 times or more. They're 4-1 when it's fewer than eight. Here's the breakdown:

Oak - 9 (L)
NYG - 9 (L)
ATL - 8 (L)
SDG - 6 (W)
CAR - 9 (W)
KC - 9 (L)
SEA - 6 (W)
SF - 6 (W)
DEN - 5 (L)
CAR - 8 (L)
LAR - 0 (W)
DET - 9 (L)

This stat means nothing.

Are we trying to say the Saints would have won a game, just using the first game against the Raiders for example, if Cooks didn't catch 9 times for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns?

Or maybe the Saints would have won the NY game without his 7 catches for 68 yards?

Today I'd blame Brees for under-throwing Cooks on those two long passes than Cooks for having the audacity to bother suiting up.

Heck, let's trade Cooks for a 5th round pick and never have another losing season again.

Saints throw the ball more and force it deep when losing, thus more targets for Cooks
