Old record was 467, he ended the season with 471 thanks to that onside kick recovery.

That's going to be a very difficult record to break.

29.5 completions a game is what it would take.
 
Too bad Bradford beat his completion % record.

If you throw enough 3 yard passes on 3rd and 9, that will happen.

Just looked up a key stat, which is percentage of completions that went for first downs, and Bradford was at a mediocre 35.7 percent. The NFL leaders each year are typically between 39 and 43 percent. Brees this season finished at 39.2 percent. The year he finished with 71.2 percent completion rate, he was 2nd in the league with 42.3 percent in that category.
