Bushrod will be replaced by Strief, who took over late in the first half against the Bills after Bushrod couldn't continue.
"Those guys have been great," Brees said. "Strief, in particular, over the last three years he's had to step in from time to time and do some different things - whether it's to play left tackle, whether it's to play tight end, whether it's in goal-line situations.
"He's kind of a swingman. You can put him in anywhere," he said of Strief, a former seventh-round draft pick who's started one game in each of the last three seasons. "He gets the job done and does whatever he can to fill his role on the team. Now you see him potentially getting the opportunity to get some more significant playing time."

From the way it sounds, Bushrod will be active and available in an emergency situation this week, but they hope to hold him out so he can get to be 100%.

It's good news. I'd hate to be completely naked at 2nd team Offensive Tackle. Also a good plan.
