The New Orleans Saints are now 3-0 with quarterback Drew Brees sidelined with an injury. In an interview with Zach Strief, Voice of the Saints, Brees lauded the team's performance without him.
"I'm extremely proud," Brees said. "I've had a chance to sit back [and watch] from a different perspective than I've ever been in and really watch the team grow and be strengthened from within."
Against Seattle and Dallas, New Orleans largely leaned on the defense and special teams to get wins. Against Tampa Bay, the defense had another dominant showing; but Teddy Bridgewater exploded, throwing for 314 yards and 4 touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes.
"He did a great job all day of making great reads, getting the ball out on time, Brees said. "You're just seeing the product of what we get to see every week with Teddy." ...
