In the midst of the best five-game stretch for any quarterback since 1970, Drew Brees will attempt to continue his monster season when they New Orleans Saints host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
After spending his first five seasons with San Diego, Brees signed a six-year,
$60 million contract with the Saints as a free agent.
Brees has rewarded the Saints with an MVP-calibre season. He leads the league with 3,463 passing yards and is third with 19 touchdowns.
Entering this contest, Brees has five straight games with at least 300 yards, totalling 1,954 yards, the best span in the NFL since 1970.
