Giants show anything is possible in playoffs

PHOENIX, ARIZ. -- Saints quarterback Drew Brees admitted he went through "that period of withdrawal" after the Saints finished with a losing record last month and missed the playoffs.

But his unwavering optimism survived intact.

"I've got to be honest, it was kind of tough, especially to watch a team like the Giants, who get in as a fifth seed, have to go on the road and win three games, and now they're in the Super Bowl. So it's kind of like, 'Gosh, it could have been us,' " said Brees, who is in Phoenix this week doing a promotion with Chili's restaurant and enjoying the Super Bowl scene with friends.
