Lelito seems to be an upgrade, if week one of the preseason is any indication. Hope DLP can come back healthy soon

Lelito is the future at center for this team; no matter what he will sooner or later be the starter. Might be week 1, might be week 8 or not until 2015, but he will be the starter. Goodwin is the "safest" choice because of his experience/versatility and we know what we will get with him. But I still think Tim wins the job come week 1.

Notice that DLP is described as a "reserve" in that article. He's not even the starting center for the Bears. Once Armstead replaced Charlie Brown, DLP became the weakest link on our OL. We needed to upgrade the C position, and I think we will accomplish that this season with Lelito as our starter. I know Lelito is still battling Goody for the starting role, but I think Lelito will win out.

The reason I think that, was listening to an interview by Grubbs. He says Lelito makes mistakes and needs reminders. Goodwin doesn't.

Lelito is a run game mauler!! Fails a bit in pass protection compared to goody.

You are basing their assessment this year off of last year's play? I didn't see either one with the advantage in pass protection on Friday.

No, I'm basing my assessment off statements by Grubbs.

And PFF

When did Grubbs say any anything about his pass protection? Also hasn't Grubbs been out of practice for a couple of weeks now, so wondering when that interview was. Have to take those with a grain of salt because Stinchcomb praises Lelito and says it's only a matter of time before he's the starter.

You have PFF stats from Friday's game? Please post them if you can.
