Sat, 1 Mar 2008 18:25:44 -0800

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears have re-signed free-agent LB Lance Briggs (Bears) to a six-year contract worth $36 million.

Disappointing to say the least. Not been a good day....

Do we win a prize for having the most salary cap space after free agency? How else can you explain us striking out on everyone we are mentioned with?

Well, typical Saints. There is nothing basically but scrubs left in free agency. I'm sure we will sign a couple and this board will get all fired up about the next nobody we bring in. Our team loves backup type players. We have about 10 starters and 43 backups on this team.

What the HECK???????????? :dunno:

We could have EASILY beat that offer!!!! We have not signed one SINGLE FA...the trade of Vilma is a good one, but still not a FA signing. Have to say I'm pretty dissapointed in the FO for dropping the ball on this one.

They better use all that extra cap room to sign Colston, Evans and Smith this year and give us plenty of wiggle room to make a splash next year. There aren't any other FA's that are going to be able to make a big impact now. Even the CB's we're bringing in aren't legit #1's...fill in's at best.
