I know a bit about him from keeping up with fantasy. I always like the opinion from fans of a free agent's former team. You may be familiar with this youtuber, he does a lot of Saints videos. Allen is a sneaky good add imo.

Pretty consistent with what the Ravens fan said.

Positives: He’s still pretty young, but has experience. Numbers aren’t great, but he’s a capable runner n can catch. He can also play STs

Negs: According to the commentator, he lacks that “home run” speed, and more importantly, struggles in pass pro. Gotta do that here!


IF he can improve on his blocking, he’s got a chance here. He’s experienced, but still young, can run, catch and play STs. And playing here just might be the best fit for him.

Re: blocking--remember Antonio Pittman? Payton yelled, "I can't play you" when Pittman couldn't do pass pro.

Pass protection/blocking is the #1 stat he need if he is going to make the team, everything else is an advantage in his favor. Maybe we try him as a backup FB and special teamer.

My favorite thing about signing Buck is that he's a proven player, not a hope and a question mark.

To me that means that we'll at least have Buck Allen as a back up RB. If not, we'll have a player that beat out Buck Allen for that spot. In other words, we'll have a very good back up RB.
