Gradkowski has team's only wins
By LARRY HOLDER/The Sun Herald
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski made his first NFL start in probably the most hostile environment in the league this season - in the Louisiana Superdome against the New Orleans Saints.
Gradkowski put up the best numbers coach Jon Gruden had seen this year from any of his passers. Previous starter Chris Simms had little success before having his spleen removed following a Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Fellow rookie Reggie Bush ruined Gradkowski's initial outing with a game-winning punt return touchdown on Oct. 8 as the Saints escaped with a 24-21 win.
The loss certainly wasn't Gradkowski's fault. He completed 20 of his 31 pass attempts for 225 yards and two touchdowns. He kept the Saints defenders on edge all day.
Saints coach Sean Payton took notice of him, and his team travels to take on the Bucs Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.
