Saints tailback Reggie Bush and 49ers quarterback Alex Smith will play in the same game Sunday for the first time since they led Helix High School to back-to-back section championships in La Mesa, Calif., in 2000 and 2001.
How good was that team? Smith, the NFL's No. 1 draft pick in 2005, was the odd man out.
"I'll tell you one thing. Growing up with Alex, he was always the slowest guy on the team. Always," Bush said. "Then he got to Utah and started running the option and started out-running people. I was like, 'This is not the same guy.' I didn't recognize him.
