Last night vs the Redskins, Jermon Bushrod ran out of the tunnel with the offensive starters.... that's neither here nor there. But he was introduced by the announcer as a tight end. I looked up at the big screen and sure enough, they had TE by his name.

I just found that odd. Did anybody else see this?

Probably cause he blocked for Brees for years and was a big part of the success. So they wanted to include him in the starting lineup maybe and two left tackles would look weird? So made him a TE?

Wasn't Bushrod the player who reported eligible on Ingram's second TD?

Seems like they’ve done this before for the “eligible” position.

Just speculation, but if a Tackle Eligible is listed as a Tight End, do they not have to report as eligible when entering the game?

more than likely it was written down as "TE" meaning tackle eligible but announcer figured Tight End lol

Bushrod wears the #74 which identifies him as either a Offensive or Defensive lineman. Anytime he comes on the field as an extra lineman he has to report as tackle eligible which is how he is primarily used when the Saints have their regular starters playing. So efil4stnias is likely correct right. The announcers notes likely said TE so he naturally thought Tight End without thinking too much about it.
