Buying a car.... suggestions? (1 Viewer)

I would stick with the BMW 3-series
I don't know much about Scion, the G35's are so played out. Everyone has one and, contrary to what OnePeat says, I have heard many horror stories about Infiniti BR service and sales

Most of the comparison info out there puts the Beemer above the G35 - http://www.askmen.com/cars/car_vs_car/3b_car_vs_car.html
"The G35 is one of BMW’s main competitors, but the BMW still has an advantage over the G35. the BMW gets the edge in overall performance due to the use of technology in giving the driver more control. From the outside, BMW hit a homerun with the new design of the 3 Series. The BMW has a better interior design and feel. After crunching the numbers, the BMW edged out the G35."

"This (G35) is a roomy car, though the build quality is nowhere near the BMW’s."

Design and Quality
modern, trim, aggressive look (335i), particularly with those 18″ rims. I’m iffy on the G35 however.

Engine and Transmission
the BMW straight six is smoother, As for the transmissions, the Infiniti’s automatic is decent but not special. The BMW’s however, appears to be the fastest and smoothest shifting automatic

Ergonomics
The BMW seems more natural right out of the box. BMW also offers 4-way power lumbar adjustments versus 2-way on the G35. I noticed a bigger blind spot around the C-pillar on the Infiniti, probably due to the wide C pillar. Almost reminds me of the large blind spot on my WRX wagon.

Handling
The BMW felt like a thoroughbred with form fitting firm seats, precise steering, and nice throttle control. The Infiniti was a great disappointment

Technology
Now, we get to talk about iDrive. Compare that to the Infiniti. The (BMW) entertainment and navigation system might just be the best in the business

Conclusion
Life is a compromise. Is the BMW worth more than the Infiniti? How can I forgo the coolest navigational system in the industry? I think it just comes down to what your priorities are. If it’s performance, the BMW is a no-brainer in my mind. It’s incredibly capable, and possibly comparable to the outgoing M3 once you have applied a few suspension and engine mods. It is also the flashier car of the two. For those who are more interested in family car attributes of sensibility, price consciousness, the Infiniti would be the choice.

Honda Civic EX coupe. For the upper end of what you want to spend, you can probably also get it equipped with a navigation system and satellite radio. Should satisfy your reliability requirement and falls in your price range, new. And even though you aren't concerned with gas mileage, it steps up there, too (30/40 -auto, 30/38 - manual). Dash layout is a bit quirky but I kind of like it.

MSRP on the Honda site with an automatic transmission and navigation system is $21,260 ($20,460 w/ manual transmission). Sunroof is standard on EX models.

...That's a nice little car- but why on Earth would the manual get worse gas mileage than the automatic?? It's usually the other way around...
