This article is pure gold... must read! Kudos to the OP. :9:

Since 2016, Jordan had the second-most pass-rush snaps when a stunt/blitz combo was executed, and Jordan made the most of every snap. On such plays, he’s he recorded an 89.5 pass-rush grade (second), a 23.3% pass-rush win rate (first), a 17.1% pressure rate (7th) and 39 total pressures (most). On blitzes alone since 2015, Jordan again has the most pass-rush snaps among edge defenders, recording an 86.1 pass-rush grade (second), 16.6% pass-rush win rate (fifth) and 97 total pressures (second to only Von Miller).

Add a healthy, beastly Marcus Davenport as the opposite bookend, and you have a formula for sheer terror on opposing offensive lines! ?

I agree, but I also think the D line is an area that will bear watching this year. Davenport showed promise as a rook, but with Okafor’s departure, he’ll now be counted on as a full time starter. Davison is gone, we won’t have Sheldon for some time, and DO will miss the 1st game.

So basically, it’ll be Cam and 3 new faces as starters along the D line in the season opener against the Texans and a very dangerous QB in Deshaun Watson.

The good news is that along with Davenport, the Saints brought in 2 fairly capable DTs Edwards n Brown. Both are vets, but still young ( both are only 25). They make for good fits under Coach Nielsen, who’s an excellent “teaching coach”! Edwards n eventually Onyemata, will likely rotate at the 3tech spot to replace Rankins. But expectations will be higher for Brown, who was signed to a 3 yr deal, to be THE starter at NT. He’s a big bodied run stuffer, but has some quickness for his size.

Overall, I think the Dline will hold up well against the run. But it’ll be most interesting to see how well the trio of Brown, Onyemata and Edwards fare in providing consistent pressure up the middle against the pass. IF they can, then BOTH Cam n Davenport COULD have strong seasons!

We’ll see!
