Honestly we were at a point with Brees there similar to how the 2015 Broncos and Peyton were in that the rest of the team had to play great around the (formerly great) QB in order to win.

The Cook fumble was a killer for us there in that situation and we just didn't ever really recover and Brees just didn't have enough left and once it turned we were helpless.

We had damn near a whole half to "recover". Drew couldn't throw more than 10 yards and Tampa knew that. Three ints in your own territory equals a loss. A team can overcome 1 turnover, but three more, in your own territory . . . Brees should of been benched and Jameis inserted if we are keeping it real.

The Brees Era was marred by so many missed opportunities. Losing at Soldier Field in 06, Losing to a wildcard Seattle team, letting Vernon Davis get loose in San Fran, Marcus Williams inexplainable missed tackle on Diggs, The infamous No Call, the push off on PJ for the win against the Vikings, and then in his last game throwing 3 picks while Cook gives the assist to throw the game away.

As great as Drew was, it's like lady luck only smiled on him in 2009.

Honestly we were at a point with Brees there similar to how the 2015 Broncos and Peyton were in that the rest of the team had to play great around the (formerly great) QB in order to win.

The Cook fumble was a killer for us there in that situation and we just didn't ever really recover and Brees just didn't have enough left and once it turned we were helpless.

And lets be 100% honest here, would that team have gone on to GB and beat the Packers and then outgun the Chiefs in the SB? We were done on Offense and if it wasn't the TB game it would've been the GB game or whatever....we weren't going to win it all...our Defense wouldn't have been able to carry our O.

My beef with blaming the Cook fumble was that it wasn't our only turnover, and TBH we couldn't move the ball in that game anyway. We had one sustained drive in that game that led to a TD and AK accounted for more than half the yards on that drive.
