HOUSTON – Cam Jordan and Nick Fairley formed a disruptive inside-out combination for the New Orleans Saints this season.
Jordan edged Fairley for the team sack lead, 7.5 to 6.5, but the pairing's sack numbers were a little misleading. Jordan and Fairley were tied for sixth (24) and 13th (22), respectively, in quarterback hits, and Jordan tied for the league lead with 17 tackles-for-loss.
Fairley is now set to be a free agent, and it should surprise no one that Jordan wants the big defensive tackle to be back in New Orleans next season.
"I'd love to see him back, but I'm not in the front office," Jordan said. "That's above my pay grade."
Fairley, who signed a one-year deal in part to prove himself to the NFL after a pair of down years in Detroit and St. Louis, recorded career highs of 43 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
