HOUSTON -- Defensive end Cameron Jordan said everybody knows the New Orleans Saints haven't played well enough to meet expectations the past three years.
"Three years at 7-9, that's complacency at best, and that's not even breaking even," Jordan said Wednesday at radio row for Super Bowl 51. "This is something that you can't be proud of. We've had a three-year stretch of not making the playoffs, and that's something that's clearly a new territory for me. That can't happen. We have to bounce back from it.
"As a competitor, it kills you."
After the season, Jordan said he took a reprieve from football. He didn't watch the playoff games and decided instead to learn how to snowboard as well as take some family vacation.
The Saints had another disappointing finish in 2016. They started 0-3 before bouncing back to 4-4, but they then lost four of their next five games, effectively eliminating them from postseason contention before the eventual 7-9 finish.
