I am starting to go crazy with all of these different scenerios about the different versions of the trade for Vilma. I believe that the pick was a conditional 4th in 2009 (next years draft) because of the term conditional. Here is the official NFL website transaction report. Can we please find out what it is so we can finally put this to rest. Thanks.

it was a 4TH THIS YEAR. and a conditional 3rd that could turn into a 2nd. That's what it is.

The Saints traded this years 4th (#113) round pick to the Jets in exchange for Vilma.
That is a done deal, we don't have a 4th round pick this year.

If Vilma meets certain performance incentives and signs a long term deal with us, they the Jets will receive either our 2nd or 3rd round pick in 2009. If that happens, then they give us their 4th round pick next year. That is where the conditional part of the pick comes in.

I am looking for something official. Not message board speculation. I see it on NFL as conditional 2009 4th.

I think that this may be right because I just stumbled across the NFL picks per team page and it shows no 4th.

It is a 2008 4th round pick and a conditional 2009 pick (2nd round pick - 4th round pick).

Possible Scenarios:
2008 4th round pick
2008 4th round pick + 2009 3rd round pick (We receive Jets 2009 4th round pick)
2008 4th round pick + 2009 2nd round pick (We receive Jets 2009 4th round pick)

Are you sure that this is what it is. I took the report as.

2008 4th round pick
2009 3rd round pick + (-Jets 4th round pick back to us)
2009 2nd round pick + (-Jets 4th round pick back to us)
