The New Orleans Saints' meteoric rise from NFL doormat to likely NFC South champion has certainly been the most surprising development of the 2006 season, not to mention a story that has put a smile on just about every fan's face. But despite their unexpected run of success, it's probably fair to say that the Saints still haven't been viewed in the minds of many as a serious threat come playoff time.
New Orleans had an opportunity to dispel that notion before a nationwide audience when the club took the field Sunday night in Texas Stadium. And boy did the Saints take full advantage of the chance to showcase themselves.
