I remember when Morten Anderson use to kick em beyond the endzone. I think Carney might be getting a little arthritis in his hips or something.

Mort made it through the uprights in preseason.

The kickoff was from the 35 back then, though.

I agree and it's killing us. If our defense gave up a 20 yd play on the first play after every kickoff, everyone would be screaming. If we want to win against the better teams in this league, we can't be spotting them yardage.

We need to make room and bring in a kickoff specialist. Keep Carney to make field goals, but pickup someone who can boom the ball into the endzone.

Since Weatherford already has a roster spot and is active each week it would be the simplest. I just think the kid would excel with some practice.

I think the weather had a lot to say about that. His kick offs in the dome look OK.

I made this point way back in preseason during TC, and really thought that Connor Hughes had the better leg and was doing well with the FG's. I was really surprised we let him go. Then again, I said that Weatherford had no chance of making the team. He has really blossomed from the first days of TC! Maybe Hughes just didn't show enough toward the end, when I had to go back to school.

The player I really wanted was Steven "Beaver" Gostkowski!
