can't nobody hold me down... Fox censorship fails (1 Viewer)

You are half correct. Don't blame Paul for pork because that is a lame cop out.

The election you are half correct. He did gain huge support nationwide from the libertarian party during an election that the Republican party tried to prevent him from getting.

In fact, there was a great article on this just a day or two ago.

Why? He gets federal $$$ into his district and distributes it to various interests in exchange for favorable local press which is vital for his re-election campaigns. I don't blame him for it, I just acknowledge that he's an insider politician who does what they all do - he trades pork for votes.

Pork: additional legislation added to a main bill which INCREASES its total taxpayer cost. These are used to garner votes for the bill's passage through congress (ie: "Vote for this bill and we will put in that $100 million additional highway spending in your state/district/etc")

Earmark: is legislation which directs the spending of a bill ALREADY PASSED towards certain specific areas. For instance, congress passes a $100 million dollar spending increase for highways, congressperson installs an earmark to make sure that $25 million go directly to their district.

Red Apple: aka Red Delicious. An apple with red skin with darker red streaks and five "points" on the bottom

Green Apple: aka Granny Smith. An apple with light, speckled green skin. Crisp, juicy, tart.

The people in Paul's district pay federal taxes. Its his duty as their elected representative to see that at least some of their money comes back to the county in the form of "pork" projects such as museums and roads, etc. Its dishonest and very cheap for Paul's rivals to try to use this to paint him as a pork barrel spender. He votes against bills that are loaded down with pork. But in the event that these bills get passed, its his job to make sure that the people he represents get a piece of the pie just like everyone else. Im not a Paulnick or whatever but lets at least be honest.

Fox only helped Ron Paul. We will see how he does in N.H.

I am still trying to figure out why everyone sees him as "kooky". They throw that title around but have a really hard time defending it.

Wow, Paul rocked Leno tonight. I have earned much respect for Jay Leno for standing up and telling the nation how wrong it was of Faux to leave him out of the debate.

I loved that interview! I can't wait till it hits youtube.

Now lets just see what it does for tomorrow.

It's not his company he keeps, it's his supporters. We are an interesting group, made up of many different Americans from varying ages, races, creeds, organizations. We have a lot of "normal" people if that is what you are asking. There are some people on the fringe but what they believe is on the fringe, Dr. Paul is here with the normal just wanting a better nation. He'll take support from wherver he can get it, because he is a unifying candidate.

Each candidate has their crazy supporters.

Ron Paul doesn't think 9/11 was an inside job, he believes that our foreign policy in the past is used as motivation to incite these people to action. Listen to the Jay Leno interview. Sure you have your crazies radical kill everyone on the planet, but in order for them to recruit and grow they need fodder to recruit with.

If John McCain wins just imagine the terrorist ads, "America will be here another 100 years," "Permanent bases in Iraq, ships off our coast, and American planes patrolling our skies forever"

It's the company he keeps. You lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas. And the problem of appealing to the disenfranchised fringe is... you're appealing to the disenfranchised fringe...

So Ron Paul is keeping company with a small group of truthers because they support him?

I hate the truthers, they are idiots and make up an extremely small percentage of Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul thinks it is preposterous that anyone could think the US is behind the 9/11 attacks. This is another example of you thinking poorly of Ron Paul because of something the media said about a very small group of Ron Paul supporters instead of listening to Ron Paul himself.
