I’m thinking the Raiders don’t give him permission unless we are proposing a serious trade offer. We're trading for him aren't we? I don't think he's hitting the market.

Have there been any reports of the Raiders offering cap relief?Perhaps and if that happens, there are potential benefits. One, it almost certainly means a deal gets reached that provides the Saints some cap relief. Additionally, while it's easy to say let it go to free agency and if Carr wants to be here, this is where he'll sign, but circumstances can always change. If the Saints have a chance to get him on the hook now through a trade, and they consider him a priority, then it can make sense to not let this get to free agency.
