Derek Carr world tour thread (updated with combine visits) (2 Viewers)

Hope they can get a deal done. Knowing how the QB market goes, Carr is almost certainly going to be our best chance to land a veteran upgrade at the position anytime soon.

Thinking more about this, the NFC South is clearly very weak and this move alone makes us favourite for the division. The NFC also is weak as far as QBs are concerned.

The only QBs in the conference who you can make a case for being elite are Hurts and Rodgers. The latter looks to be going to the AFC and the former has only had one season of elite production in a loaded roster. If DA can get the defense playing like it was down the stretch, we’ve got a shot at making some noise in the playoffs.

We're trading for him aren't we? I don't think he's hitting the market.

Perhaps and if that happens, there are potential benefits. One, it almost certainly means a deal gets reached that provides the Saints some cap relief. Additionally, while it's easy to say let it go to free agency and if Carr wants to be here, this is where he'll sign, but circumstances can always change. If the Saints have a chance to get him on the hook now through a trade, and they consider him a priority, then it can make sense to not let this get to free agency.

Have there been any reports of the Raiders offering cap relief?
