A fishing buddy and I were catching a bunch of nice big redfish a couple days ago in a canal off Freshwater Bayou near Intracoastal City. Here is a pic of the biggest that I caught that day.

nice red. I would love to get in a mess of those. My brother and I got a group together including us, my son, his daughter, as well as our baby brother and his wife last weekend to do some fishing. We went juggin and the fish were biting for sure! Caught 27 blue cats in all and only fished about 2 hours before the kids started getting tired. The largest was 18 lbs.

Can't beat good times like this!!!

Drove all the way from Dallas to spend Christmas week in NOLA and then drove all the way to Grand Isle to catch a few reds from the bank. This one being the biggest at 29". Soft plastics worked best that day.

Damn! Nice! I love Sacalait... I was just never any good at finding and catching many like that.

Thanks Andrus! We had a great time and in the lake up here where I fish, the crappie like to hang around the piers in the winter time and if you can find them stacked up on a pier you can really kill them! The other option is white crappie in deep water. Find the deepest hole in the lake and troll or spider rig around at different depth until you find them. My brother does that a lot with a lot of success.
