I forgot about Chase Hansen. I was really high on him as an UDFA last year, but he was hurt when we picked him up and pretty much had a redshirt year. He was projected to be a 4th-6th round guy and went undrafted probably due to his injury.

Walterfootball’s write up on Hansen last year:

“In 2018, Hansen recorded 114 tackles, two interceptions, four passes broken up, 22 tackles for a loss and five sacks. He was all over the field for the Utes as a seek-and-destroy defender. Hansen moved to linebacker as a senior, and that is the position he should play in the NFL.”

He could surprise us in camp and make the team. He’s a little undersized at 6’2” 222, but not really. He was a safety so assumed he was undersized. We really don’t need a WILL, but Craig Robertson could backup the MIKE spot if need be.

@WhoDat_SB44 is getting antsy for this draft and for the season to start. He’s going for the record for most threads started?

Sure enough. I love the draft almost as much as a game. I called in sick a couple times when I worked on weekends back in the day.

I’m just fired up and bored in quarantine ?

He was projected to go higher than Elliss by most evaluators, but had the injury
NFL.com had Elliss (5.80) graded out better than Hansen (5.60). I also noticed that Elliss has long arms, while Hansen’s are super short considering his height. Hansen is way more of a T-Rex than Trey Hendrickson.

Some LB Arm Lengths
Darius Leonard: 34 3/8
Bobby Wagner: 33
Kaden Elliss: 32 3/4
*Kenneth Murray: 32 3/4
*Logan Wilson: 32 3/8
Alex Anzalone: 32 1/8
Kiko Alonso: 32 1/8
Demario Davis: 32
*Patrick Queen: 31 5/8
Eric Kendricks: 31
Chase Hansen: 30 1/2

Edit:
Hansen lacks the traditional size NFL teams desire for the position — and the data proves it. Across the board, Hansen’s measurables fall short of the position’s standard thresholds, with his weight (222 lbs.), wingspan (74 1/8), and arm length (30 1/2) landing at or below the sixth percentile for linebackers, per MockDraftable.

Some teams really get into the arm lengths. Most want LBers with at least 32". Queen is the only top 10 less than 32". I don't think it will hurt him much.
