Speculation Chicago Bears Free-Agent Focus: Teddy Bridgewater (1 Viewer)

Drew will be more expensive. You will have to push more dead money to 2021 and not have a QB under contract. That current dead money for Drew doesn't really matter, pay 5 mil in 2020 or pay it in 2021.

I'm not discussing who is better. I want Drew and he is better but you will pay more.

It sound's like your only reasoning is that we'll save 5-10mil in 2021 because we won't have a QB under contract.

The reasoning is we'll be able to push some of his dead money back if he re-signs. Hopefully to a time when we'll have a starting QB on a rookie contract to offset the hit. With Teddy you will never have him on a cheap contract and you can't push any of the dead money back. I think his contract plus Drew's dead money would cost as much or more than Drew would...and I'd rather have Drew...or start finding the next starting QB.
