I would love to see the Saints keep Ivory and watch him have a great season and sign for 4 more years.
trade is still possible for a 3rd, 4thNot a fair comparison. Boldin will be nearly 33 by next season, the Ravens took the pick because it was better than letting him go for nothing which they needed to do for $ reasons. No way.
If we're lucky. He's making $4m more than Ivory, but Boldin just got traded for a 6th rounder. A 5th would be a coup for the Saints.
I like Ivory, but I think that the Saints took a risk giving him the 2nd round tender in hopes of a trade offer that may never come. That $2m could have been better spent on a FA that will play more often than a #4RB.

trade ivory to st. louis rams for austin davis their back-up qb......win-win
For the record, I don't want to trade Ivory. But if the team were to trade him, this speculation actually makes sense.
Basically, the rams need a RB with Jackson gone, and if Jake Long signs with them, the current starter (Saffold) could want to be traded.
