Anyone notice this as well?

My phone has seemed pretty sluggish lately so I got to thinking and figured to try firefox and uninstall Chrome for a while. Sure enough, my phone is back to snappy performance without being dragged down by underlying Chrome background operations.

It's disappointing that Google can't get their mobile browser working without crippling modern hardware.

I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD btw.

safari is slowing down my friends iphone, I told him to...wait..nevermind....

It drags down all my older computers, too - because it's a freakin' memory hog.

i mainly used dolphin browser HD on my old phones (Captivate and Galaxy S2) and sometimes used chrome with no problems but now i have a nexus 4 and chrome is the stock browser so i've stuck with that one all the way. doesn't seem like my phone lags or runs slow or anything.. but maybe that's just because the hardware is that much better compared to the others

Chrome is the stock browser on my phone as well and it isn't like I have bad hardware either. I think there is something conflicting somewhere as this wasnt an issue when i first got the phone. Either way, Firefox more or less fixed the issue.

I don't have any issues on my note 2, but my desktop is a different story.

Threadjack here... what are the advantages of Chrome over Dolphin? I've used Dolphin for the last couple of years and haven't switched over only because I'm too lazy to move my bookmarks and favorites over. Thoughts?

I'm about to go back to chrome.

I've used chrome on my PC for several years, now. I hated chrome on my previous droid. However, on my RAZR maxx HD that I purchased this past weekend, its the shizznizzle!!

I've stayed away from Dolphin because I had read that it was pulling some very unneeded data from the device and sending it elsewhere. Was that ever fixed?

I use Chrome on my rooted, unlocked One X (rocking Jelly Bean). I haven't had any issues at all. Firefox for Android is another story. It's slow as hell.

So I think I've actually narrowed it down to Motorola's home widget. It was hogging resources along with chrome. Both are culprits but changing the widget for a 3rd party solution seems to have solved most of my issues.
