I don't post a lot but i found a picture from the dolphin's message board that a sports illustrated camera caught of Sharper's fumble before the goal-line. I didn't see this posted before feel free to merge. I'm glad the call went in our favor and its nice to finally see a view from the other side of the endzone.

I'll + rep the first guy to go over there and post the pic of the "reception" on their first drive that gave them a first down when the "Replay Camera Malfunctioned, Therefore We Did Not Review The Play". The one where the ball is ACTUALLY on the ground.

Well, son of a .......well, anyway, we won :hihi:.

Oh, who didn't know that was a fumble? I was pretty confident they'd overturn it even without SEEING the ball, you could tell it was out way before the TD.

But hey, I guess that's us getting one for the "broken" replay system in the 1st quarter. We've have bad calls go our way, so it's no big deal.

What confuses me is this.... In this situation the ball would have went back to the fins?

Why....

Because the ball was fumbled out of the side of the endzone. Had it gone out at the 1 or 2 yard line then it would have been Saint ball at that spot. But it was fumbled into the endzone and out the side of it.

The line judge must have been looking at the feet of Sharper and nothing else. That's the only way he could have made that initial ruling on the field of a touchdown.

I think we all understand that.. the question is why? What is the rationale for
having to give the ball up for fumbling it out of the endzone instead of at the 1?

Oh. Sorry. That's just the NFL rule and always has been. :idunno:

Doesn't the rule state that you can't advance the ball on a fumble, therefore it would come back to the spot of the fumble...in which case it would've been Saints ball on the two if I'm not mistaken.

Why would you not be able to advance a fumble?

The only thing that upsets me is that the ball shouldn't have been "fumbled" in the first place. When Sharper started heading towards the endzone, Porter stopped running behind him to block Ted Ginn and yet, somehow, Ginn got by him and forced the "fumble." T-PO's gotta do a better job of blocking next time, or we might not be so lucky.
