New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks addressed the media Thursday for the first time since an ESPN report surfaced Tuesday of Cooks' exasperation on not being targeted once in Week 12.
Cooks admits to a sense of frustration on not recording a catch or target for the first time in his career.
The star receiver, however, explained his feelings came from a competitive nature and desire to make contributions on a weekly basis.
"I feel like the opportunities will come," Cooks said. "But at the same time this is a very emotional game and every once in a while you have to express that and you have to express what you want. Closed mouths don't get fed."
Cooks currently ranks second on the team in yards receiving (736), receptions (51) and touchdowns (six) behind rookie wide receiver Michael Thomas, who had nine catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns on 10 targets.
