NOTICE FROM THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: The New Orleans Saints organization is encouraging fans to arrive at the Louisiana Superdome this Sunday earlier than normal due to increased security measures being implemented at stadiums league-wide. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 pm CT.

In addition, the Saints organization is also encouraging ticket holders to utilize the Ticket Exchange program at www.neworleanssaints.com if you are unable to attend the game. The team is aiming for 100% attendance and will be target reducing the number of no-shows each week.

Opening Statement:

“Going through the injury list, Kendrick Clancy (right knee) did not practice; Darnell Dinkins (left foot) did not practice; Mike Bell (right knee) did not practice; Jermon Bushrod (right knee/right ankle) did not practice; Malcolm Jenkins (left ankle) did not practice; Jason Kyle (right knee/right ankle) did not practice; Bobby McCray (back) did not practice; Lance Moore (right hamstring) was limited; Rod Harper (left foot) was limited. Yesterday we put Jammal Brown on injured reserve and we signed center Nick Leckey. We also added a practice squad player today, Renardo Foster, who took Chase Daniel’s practice squad spot from a week ago. Most of the work today was on base, first and second down.”

...Can you talk about the decision to put Jammal Brown on injured reserve?

“The sports hernia was one thing, but ultimately it was the hip surgery and the prognosis from the doctor that did the surgery in New York was looking more like 12 weeks and that puts you right at that gray area where you begin to weigh the pros and cons of the time away and when he would be able to come back healthy. Ultimately, we made the decision yesterday that we felt like we had to put him on IR to free up a roster spot.”

What strikes you about the chaos that a Rex Ryan defense produces?

“There are a lot of multiple looks. They’re playing real hard; they’re doing a great job and they’re always challenging. When you look at his defenses from the past, this one is buying into that scheme, and when you watch them on film, they’re doing an outstanding job. They present a lot of challenges in regards to your protections and then the coverages and trying to get guys out into the pattern and not having everyone in blocking.”

...How fortunate are you to have two guys like Jermon Bushrod and Zach Strief who have some experience and can fill in for him?

“Those guys have been here and we’ve worked with them and developed them. Both of them have played now in important games and I think that both of them will be ready this week. Both of them played last week in Buffalo, so they both have experience.”...

But Bushrod himself says that he doesn't expect to play?

What happened to Chase Daniels?

Chase Daniel (no S) was moved up to the active 53 before the Buffalo game leaving a spot on the practice squad.

(Leckey was cut to make room for Daniel then was brought back with the placement of Brown on IR)
