What's up with that?

Minimum for years of experience.

The number 2 receiver in the NFL right now makes minimum NFL wage.

Com'on Loomis. Do the right thing! We have the room.

That's how it goes. UDFAs start at the bottom.

Snead will get his when he signs a contract next year.

We worry about money a tad too much. Snead's contract will take care of itself.

I am sure you follow the NFL and how contracts work. The second contract is where successful UDFAs get paid.

Drew makes average guys look unbelieveable.

He's good but not nearly as good as his statline.

But doesn't Snead get bonuses for outperforming his contract? I seem to recall UDFAs receive bonuses based on playing time and performance.

It's the era of slotted salaries, gang. Snead will be due a nice chunk of change soon enough. And this isn't unprecedented with UDFA gems in this era. For example, some of the higher-end professionals on the board probably make more money annually than say, Pierre Thomas did during his first contract. In terms of price vs. performance, it was a heckuva deal for management.

This is a good thing. Remember how Junior Galette outplayed his UDFA rookie deal and we paid him early? Let's pump the brakes on paying guys before their deals come up.

Was really hoping that we would lock up Snead long term right after the Brees extension. Price is only going to go up during the season.

whats surprising is how many dont get this.

I think its been repeatedly proven. Many a WR left here, only to find mediocrity greet them at the next stop.

Kenny Stills
Lance Moore
Robert MEEEECHUM
James Graham

Most recent 4 that come to mind.

ITs the Offense and the QB that finds the open man.

Same reason Devery took less money to finish out here.

This is true to a point, But I have to say Snead looks better than Stills, Meachem, or Henderson did. They were all speed basically. Snead has great routes and hands.

He does fit Lance Moore nearly to a T though. He literally fell off the map when signing with (?) Cleveland after leaving here.
