The best team in the nation is at #72 on the newest one and #97 on that one. There's not nearly enough games played to have the connectivity that the RPI formula needs to be legit.

It is nice to have a few LA teams high though.

Tulane falls to SELU 4-7 tonight and had 13 SO to mostly freshman pitching in the process. Now 9-9 on the year. They are done. Rick Jones should be done. He hasn't been able to hire any decent asst. coaches since Schloss left to take the TCU gig. Only problem is, the person doing the hiring needs to fired first. On a side note, the business school fell in national ratings this week as well.:jpshakehead:

So Tulane falls to a good Southeastern team and ya'll want to clean house? Southeastern was picked to win the Southland this year give a little respect.

I am one of those that thinks Tulane is Tulane's biggest problem in Athletics. Tulane needs more athlete students and less student athletes and they will have more success.

As for baseball, the rule changes around 2009 really affected private schools and Rick Jones has been unable to adjust.

This team should be good. There are some players and the team is loaded with seniors. Unfortunately mental toughness and injuries aren't helping.

SELA is good but has lost to every "real" team this year. I will have more respect when SELA beats an upper echelon team.

Ohhh. I also think Jones needs assistants who did not play for him. EDIT: I have since learned many of his assistants have played for him. I take this back.

Just not sure why this team collapses so easily.

Good weekend for SELA, LSU, Tulane and ULL.

Tulane stil cant hit.

LSU beat a very good Miss state team 2 of 3.

It would be really nice to get all 4 of those teams in the tournament this year. I think 2 is a bare minimum.

-LSU is a lock. Pitching is just damn good most days

-Cajuns will need to keep on. Finish top 2 or 3 in the conference should lock them in. South Alabama looks to be the biggest competition as both are top 25 RPI now.

-SELA need to avoid a situation like last year where if they dont with the regular season, a team below them can't win the conference tourney. If they win the SLC regular season, they'll be pretty much locked in. Central Arkansas is really good this year though and Lamar is solid as well.

-Tulane keeps showing signs of life. I think they still have the ability to put it all together, but CUSA is always a death march.

So Tulane falls to a good Southeastern team and ya'll want to clean house?

How about losing to a 3-18 (with 2 of those wins over Alcorn St.) soon to be DIII team?

Yep, clean house completely! Fire Rick Dickson, Fire Rick Jones, Fire the WBB coach and volleyball coaches.

Start completely over. The Conference TBA must be entered into with a new regime that believes winning is more important than showing up and trying hard.

Well, technically UNO is going to be DI in the Southland Conference. The began the move down to DIII but stopped. Still, they dont have a full DI squad yet after dismantling a few years back.

That one stings I'm sure.

That was awful but Jones doesn't hit men on second and third with no outs. Jones doesn't leave 10 men on base regularly. If this team could just figure out how to hit they have the pitching. hoping when it warms up the hits start coming.

This team lacks heart for a senior laden team. Don't think that is Jones. I think that is the freaking players.
Jones has a decent class coming in.

Besides who you going to find better? Dickson and Cowen are horrible.

Tulane baseball plays poorly in all phases Saturday, loses 16-0 to Memphis in mercy rule-shortened game

YES!!!!!

YES!!!!!

You can't clean house. Who you going to get? The AD for Tulane is an *** clown.

Tulane is Tulane's problem. Need more financial aid to players somehow. I saw a comment that summed up everything perfectly. A Tulane degree while you play baseball is not worth the 50,000 or more you go in the hole for playing there.

The 33% mandatory scholarship hurts too. The lack of a TOPS type program, the god awful expensive tuition, the transfer rule change, the dead bats and balls that ruin Jones style.

All that aside. This team is the problem. The Seniors have been this way for 4 years now. They lack mental toughness. I hope it changes but doubt it does. Too bad since I was really looking forward to a good year.

Tulane better win today against Memphis because an 0-4 week is possible next week with LSU at home and going to Houston to play Rice for 3.
Next week will say alot about Tulane.

ULL looking to salvage a game against MTSU.

SELA looking to sweep Northwestern State today.

The Tigers looking to sweep Auburn today. Knocking Auburn to 0-6 in the league after getting swept by Vandy last week. I expect Auburn to put up a fight today.

Friday, Tulane played well and it just so happens Jones was sick and not in the dugout.
Saturday, Jones comes back and Tulane has 4 hits and 4 errors en route to a 16-0 run rule shut out at home.
I've heard the players hate Jones and have been seen joking around and laughing in the dug out while losing.
Gibbs will probably go on Tuesday against LSU but Gibbs may have thrown his arm off last year.
