Jack Nicklaus' final-round rally on Augusta National's back nine to win his sixth Masters green jacket trumped every comeback that year, and that included the 17-point deficit Notre Dame overcame in the fourth quarter at the Los Angeles Coliseum to beat Southern California, 38-37.

The final three points came off the right instep of placekicker John Carney, whose 19-yarder beat the Trojans.

Yes, the same John Carney who is still kicking around, at age 42, for the New Orleans Saints. Sunday, Carney, who has kicked 13 game-winning field goals during his 17-year NFL career, kicked four PATs and one field goal as the Saints beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 31-24, at Raymond James Stadium.
