The University of Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State University will reportedly meet in football for the first time in nearly two decades.

Officials are expected to announce a home-and-home at a joint press conference scheduled for noon Thursday at the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson.

USM athletic director Richard Giannini said he could not comment.

It is unknown at this time when the two games will take place and uncertain who will host first.
