So, what if Hillary "steals" the democrat nomination by using the delegates in michigan and florida. Officially she should get 0 delegates from those states, but if she somehow forces the democrat party to hand em over to put her over the top, that's going to irritate obama's supporters.

They will go vote for mccain in that case, if he is the rep candidate.

I'm for Obama, so Hillary not getting the delegates doesn't hurt my stance, but I do think tookt he better apprach to take away half of the delegates and not all.

I have a hard time voting for any of them. they all seem to be more or less the same. I hear the word change thrown about but whats going to really change. they all are still out of touch with real people, when was the last time any of them had to stand in line at the grocery store or pump gas or worry about someone jacking them for the change in their pockets. they will still raise taxes to pay for the spending they won't stop because thats what government does. all of them are pro open borders-amnesty because their more interested in the big business special interest money than actually fixing the problem. I doubt any of them would man up and get in congresses face about fixing the deficit and really getting the dollar back where it should be or coming up with a real energy plan that will get us away from oil. sorry didn't mean to rant but I don't think it matters who wins things will be the same the day after they do and this country will continue down the path to third world.

She may not have to force the issue. Apparently 40% of the DNC delegates are comprised of "super-delegates" who are unelected and mostly comprised of "establishment" democrats.

Anything that involves the public suicide of Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh automatically earns my top-effort and support.

The little kim avatar guys is smart!

And all McCain or Obama has to do to win the general is to declare that he will by executive order begin a massive push to get off fossil fuels, to require solar as part of building codes and to push tax cuts for energy efficiency.

Call it the New Orleans Project and make S La the center of the program!

I just can't support McCain unless Billary is his opponent. McCain/Feingold is more than enough reason to vote against him IMO. His stance on Immigration is flat out stupid. His comments on being in Iraq for 100 years are just disturbing.

In todays debate he constantly jabbed at Romney over the word "time table" Romney did a sold job of shutting the argument down and pretty much calling McCain out over his BS but McCain wouldn't let up and just kept jabbing over two little words. It was childish.

Romney seems like a pretty nice guy but calling himself more conservative than McCain isn't just a stretch, its fantasy.

Huckabee is simply scary.

If Ron Paul didn't hold his current position on the war (though I respect him for it) he would whip the crap out of all these guys.

Billary. I think that one word summarizes my opinion of her. I don't like McCain or Romney and most Republicans aren't happy with them as their choices. However if Billary wins the nomination, Republicans will show up in record numbers. She is a hugely polarizing figure. I also don't like how she and her husband have turned the primaries into a race war. President Clinton has made an embarrassment of himself in South Carolina. He is trying to scare white people into voting for Billary. He even went as far as to compare Obama to Jesse Jackson on the day after the SC election.

Obama. Listen up you Democrats and liberals. YOU ARE FOOLS IF YOU DON'T NOMINATE THIS GUY!

Barack Obama is the Democratic Party's Ronald Reagan. He is your great communicator. He speaks his socialist ideals without sounding like a total whack job. He is inspiring to listen to. I genuinely like him. I just won't be voting for him.

You put Obama against Romney or McCain and you'll see the first REAL Black President of the US. Conservatives are not going to come out in droves to vote against Obama like they will Billary.

Echoing TPS, my biggest problems with McCain are his ego and his age. Ego gets into his whole "maverick" image. People who like him see him as someone who doesn't let party politics affect his opinions. His detractors see him as someone who uses a media sympatheitc to anyone undermining the Republican party to get national airplay, to foster his own ambitions. There is some truth to the latter. As for his age, I have couple of problems with it. I think the Clintons will be able to walk circles all over him and make him look too old for the job. I also would prefer someone younger myself and not such a recycled candidate who has been running for years.

Susan Estrich, former Dukakis campaign manager and Fox News Contributor, writes a piece today claiming why Senator McCain makes sense for America if not so much for insane, reactionary talkshow hosts. She won't be voting for him, but that doesn't get in the way of objectivity.

Why is this? I don't necessarily agree with the entirety of the final bill, but the idea of taking money out of politics would seem to be a good thing for ordinary Americans if not so much for complete partisans and freespending lobbyists. Please do tell (without researching the blogs) why this is enough of a reason to vote against him.

I've been filtering through McCain's website today, and I can find more reasons to vote for him than reasons not to.

I think I'm falling into the same camp. I honestly believe he is the only one who can beat Obama/Clinton (who I am in opposition with on nearly half of the issues).

I know the whole "he can't win, so I can't vote for him" or vice-versa is not the most responsible way of thinking when it comes to voting, but I'd rather have 1% of something than 100% of nothing. Ron Paul has some great ideas, but I don't think he can win. I think his many of his views -- while correct on foreign policy and spending -- would be too much of a shock to the country right now.

We need to be eased into his kind of Jeffesonian thinking. Ideally, we should have never gone so far in the opposite direction in the first place. But hindsight is 20/20.

I watch Fox and read some of their articles. I even listen to Limbaugh for kicks, but I haven't had time to listen to him since the Florida election. I did read on CNN this morning that he was none too happy about Senator McCain. He's been bagging on him for weeks and is sharply critical of him at every turn. Interestingly, Limbaugh is trying to (again!) separate himself as a Conservative first rather than just a shill for the GOP.

I channel surf through the news stations too, never settling on one for the entire evening.

Yes, I saw a few outtakes from that Limbaugh piece. He was foaming at the mouth, maddog crazy angry.

Whew! He couched everything as though he were the sole, self-appointed spokesman for all conservatives. That's a huge turnoff to me. But, his devotees probably lap it up.

Hannity has been losing his mind too but he always takes his lead from Rush so that's no surprise.

First of all, money can never be separated from political influence, but any legislation that prohibits unregulated contributions to national political parties is a step in the right direction until people like you and me get a lobbyist in Washington DC. Anytime the California State Democratic Party, the National Rifle Association get together to oppose legislation, you have done a good thing.

I would like to see something less complicated so ordinary people don't get left out of running for office, but something had to be done and this was by far the best compromise.
