That started with Stram? Al Michaels hasn’t let it go — he says it all the time, with tongue-in-cheek (I think), but he doesn’t always make the tongue-in-cheek part apparent.

The game clock is only 60 minutes plus a short half time. Crazy to think we end up with 2 to 2 1/2 hours of clock stoppage in an average game. So yes, having 20-30 fewer incomplete passes is going to shorten the game.
