When a player with a huge contract gets traded, does the old team have to pay it off if the player redoes his contract, or does the new team have to pay the whole contract?

I think it depends on what kind of money it (ex. signing bonus incentives or salary) is and what the teams decide.

The signing bonus is also accelerated and due at once. That's why the Bengals can't trade Chad Johnson. He would be an $11 million cap hit this year.
