The New Orleans Saints made their second late-season move to bring in a young prospect off of another team's practice squad on Monday, signing wide receiver Corey Fuller away from the Detroit Lions.

Fuller, a 26-year-old receiver out of Virginia Tech, caught the only touchdown pass of his career against the Saints in 2014, and he's been on and off the Lions' active roster ever since.

"He is someone that can run, he blocks well, he is a guy that can stretch the field," Payton said. "There’s a handful of things we like about him, and we think he is young."

Fuller, who posted a time of 4.43 seconds in the 40-yard dash, has averaged 16.0 yards per reception in his career and has a reputation as a burner who can get deep.

"I'm seeing we have a lot of fast receivers here already," Fuller said. "I'm just trying to contribute to that."

Fuller has a little familiarity in New Orleans. Quarterbacks coach Joe Lombardi was his offensive coordinator in Detroit for the better part of two seasons, and former teammates Darryl Tapp and Nick Fairley are on the roster.
