As training camp draws closer and closer, several big-name free agents remain on the open market. The NFL is seemingly following the footsteps of major league baseball, which has seemed to implement a bit of course correction on rapidly expanding salaries. Several players sat out through spring training waiting on big offers that never came. Players such as Dez Bryant, who was released from the Dallas Cowboys in the spring, could be playing a similar waiting game.
Will Bryant latch on with a team before training camps open in a few weeks? Could the Saints be such a team?
The marriage would make sense in several ways. New Orleans has a high-paced offense with field stretchers galore. Michael Thomas is entrenched as the team’s No. 1 receiver and is one of the best seven or so wideouts in the game today.
