There’s 5 different players that very likely could be there at 24 that the Saints could view as BPA, all at positions that could use the depth

Justin Jefferson
Patrick Queen
K’Lavon Chaisson
Grant Delpit
Kristian Fulton

I would imagine all 5 of those guys would be graded within the top 20 picks that are there when NO picks. So, I’d say roughly 25% chance the 1st pick is from LSU. It’s just the way the board goes.

And after round 1, there’s another 5+ players from LSU that could be on the board. Every player coming out from the LSU offense has experience in a system very similar to the Saints’. Lloyd Cushenberry, Damian Lewis, etc are options that wouldn’t surprise.

Have not clicked on the article yet- but gosh i could have sworn that we selected Dalton or Eric Martin in the 1st round? Is the article saying we’ve *never* selected an LSU player in Round 1? Or just that it’s been a while?

ETA: Just read the article, apparently we picked Dalton at #31 which for all intents and purposes was a 1st round pick since we have 32 teams.. however we picked him waaay back when the Earth was still cooling and there were only 28 teams so he was technically a 2nd rounder.. Tomato, Tom-MAH-to...

They were 2nd and 7th round picks.

For sure. They would be crazy to pass on these 6 and if they are not at the top of their board.

1. Joe Burrow - best overall player IMO
2. Patrick Queen - after Murray he’s my #2 player for our need
3. K’Lavon Chaisson - right up there with Queen cause of his pass rushing ability. I would probably have him higher if not for the need at LB
4. Justin Jefferson - if we didn’t pick up Sanders he would likely be right behind Burrow, but I would still take Queen over him due to draft being so stacked with receiver
5. Kristian Fulton - I got him about even with Diggs and Terrell as the 3rd best corner in this draft. Would be more than fine taking him if Murray, Queen, Baun, & Jefferson were off the board
6. Grant Delpit - I would really want him if we didn’t bring in Jenkins or possibly re-sign Bell. He would probably be right up there at the top if that was the case. I think he will end up being a steal if someone gets him late in the first or in the second round. I would be fine with taking him even though we don’t need him

I listed them based on our need. Those 6 should be in our top 30 players on our board without a doubt, but you never know for certain. This would be the year to take one as all the top players fit a need to some degree besides Delpit.

Every one of those would be worth it...

I actually think it's a slam dunk if Delpit or Jefferson are there at 24... baring some top prospect taking an Arron Rodgers-like fall.

Only LSU guy im 100% on in the 1st is Kristian Fulton. To me, he’s the best prospect coming out of LSU this year.

My favored pick at #24 is Zack Baun.
Then I want in order:
LB Patrick Queen
Edge/LB K'Lavon Chaisson
WR Justin Jefferson
WR Brandon Mims
OL Natne Muti
OL Ezra Cleveland

Sorry I got a little carried away there.
