More on that school in Georgia:

Holy shirt. Their superintendent said this? If I was a teacher in that district, I'd have to seriously consider getting the hell out. This superintendent infuriates me with these statements. No practical way to enforce the mandate??? You tell them wear the mask or stay home. I hope this school is prepared for the shirtstorm that's approaching next week because if they just started this week, it's going to take a bit to catch up.

He’s basically saying high schools have no practical way to enforce a dress code. The same schools that have codes against short skirts, baggy pants, long hair, facial hair, etc etc

Sorry to say it this way, but if that's what he's getting at, then he has no business being in charge of a school district. His "leadership" is going to get a lot of students and teachers sick.

I agree. Masks work when near universally worn. Allowing it to be a choice cuts down the effectiveness substantially. I agree they’re refusing to lead on a sensible issue that is indeed enforceable. They enforce far more mundane measures so that rationale is bunk.

I haven't read anything about a plan for what schools plan to do with students when their teachers test positive.

I know that substitutes exist but most places don't have many.

Do they plan to jam all of the kids in a room so that one teacher can teach more kids?

Another HCQ perspective.

That study is more like a study chasing puff down the rabbit hole in the matrix. Huge amounts of blabber about nothing combined with anectdotal evidence and confirmational bias opinions down to the most random people on twitter. I think my favorite part is the way they excluded every country that beat the virus by listenening to Scientific experts, used masked and socially distance in mass because they didn't have enough cases or fatalities to meet their own minimal standards. Of course these same countries didn't use HCQ because it has been proven to have zero postiive effect so it's conveinent to remove them from the data pool.

In other words, they put more value to an unverified twitter accounts making unverified statements without documentation than international double blind, peer reviewed studies with placebo. They value pseudo science and holistic healers more than doctors and scientists from the world's best hospitals, infectious disease specialist, CDC, WHO and medical organizations. They value openly biased and objectional opionion over controlled data.

It is long and confusing with no method behind it's madness so I'm sure the study will do really well on Facebook to help reinforce the opinion of the conspiracy theorists. I just don't understand why so much time, energy and money is being used for promotion of a drug that has been constantly proven ineffective instead of looking at different medications. The horse has been beaten to death and yet the line of people with clubs continues to grow. Even the manufacturer of the drug says it doesn't work for treating Covid and has for months.

Somebody probably has an investment in the manufacturer and is trying to boost the value.

From what I’ve seen most will pull teachers out of their planning period to sub

" The association has promoted a range of scientifically discredited hypotheses, including the belief that HIV does not cause AIDS, that being gay reduces life expectancy, that there is a link between abortion and breast cancer, and that there is a causal relationship between vaccines and autism. It is opposed to the Affordable Care Act and other forms of universal health insurance. "
All link in that "study" is internal - even though they provide a long list of "evidence" they do no provide a single links to an external source

Seems like everywhere has normalized in terms of TP and PT. I don't understand how I haven't seen Clorox wipes in months.

Clorox said that they can't keep up with demand and the shortage will last into 2021

They can't keep vape pens out of school so I have doubts how well they'll keep masks on kids. I'm just glad we have the online option.

And with schools starting back up, you can forget about seeing this on the shelves any time soon. Fortunately, a bleach solution and spray bottle plus some paper towels will do nicely.

What's the difference between KN95 and N95 masks?

Comparisons of different masks:
