And, we have reached another grim milestone:

I thought we did that earlier in the week? I know that, in actuality, we probably surpassed that mark long ago.

Maybe so. I know we have been close for the last week. This was just the first confirmation I saw that were were reached 200K.

Yeah. If the pneumonia numbers are at or near normal, we're at a quarter-million Covid deaths.

My wife started an internship two weeks ago to complete her masters. They get tested every two weeks. masks aroudn the building, except for the office a few therapists use.. which I think is stupid....

one intern (whom my wife hasn't met, due to schedules) and the supervisor tested positive. He wasn't in the office until today. She has now been told to quarantine. She took a test on Monday, should get results tomorrow (thursday). but, if she was exposed today... she will have to get another test in like 3-5 days?

this sucks.

We have her in the college boy's room (since he isn't here) with the air purifier. I've been in a mask when I'm near that part of the place. She's in a mask when awake, so long as she's not exhibiting symptoms.

COVID FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Her results from Tuesday's test came back yesterday, negative. We went to Holiday Park in Ft. Lauderdale where the National guard is set up giving free drive up rapid testing (requires an appointment, which was easy), using the swab. Got results within 2 hours. Also negative.

Still going to keep an eye on any symptoms as the weekend progresses.

I think our return to school is indeed going to be short lived. Schools are being closed, now. They're trying to send individual cohort classes home to quarantine, and keeping the rest of the school going.

But that didn't work in Quebec and I doubt it works here.

The start of school coinciding with the end of summer, cottage-going season, Labor Day was a recipe for disaster. It was like Mardi Gras province-wide - they are trying limiting group sizes now, but it's too late.

My wife starts teaching from home, a mixed grade 5 and 6 class, on Monday.

I don't think we'll be that far behind, honestly.

We had it going reasonably well and then people mucked it up.
just piggybacking
my new school is doing pretty well (but i am nervous about 'phase 3')
wife/kids' school also doing fairly well in spite of the summer shenanigans
