That won't stop the pic from making it's way to conspiracy websites. Taken along with the twitter post James Spader made earlier about the globalist suggesting a temporary world government, that we are headed for a New World Order and/or martial law, or some other nonsense.

Obviously, conspiracy theorists are always gonna do what they do. And those type of photos have always made the rounds during every national crisis, like, ever. I wouldn't worry a bit about that.

At the most, we will see the National Guard give an assist here and there, but I don't see them doing all that much related to law enforcement. State and local police will have to do that. Only circumstances could possibly be if a large portion of law enforcement got wiped out by the virus. Don't see that happening.

Besides, as long as we allowing fast food employees to go about business as usual it's going to be really damn tough to stop the spread. Most fast food places around the country have implemented zero safeguards. No temperature checks, no gloves for people taking money, no cash restrictions, nothing. For some reason I feel like people nationwide are lining up at drive thru restaurants and might as well be ordering covid. We'll see.

This flies in the face of recent reporting.

Dr. Benjamin Chapman, a food safety specialist at North Carolina State University, says there’s no evidence that coronavirus is transmitted by food or food packaging even if coronavirus somehow makes its way into your meal.

And although the heat from cooking is more likely to kill off the coronavirus, Dr. Angela Rasmussen, a virologist at Columbia University, says the risk of contracting COVID-19 through a hot or a even cold meal is extremely low.

“in general, eating food is low risk and there has not been any evidence to show that coronavirus is transmitted by eating food,” said Dr. Rasmussen. “Coronaviruses in general are not stable at high temperatures, so it is highly likely that cooking food will inactivate the virus. cold foods we don’t know how long the virus remains infectious on cold foods, however for things like produce that you would presumably wash prior to eating that should rinse off any virus.”

She adds if the virus is ingested, our stomach would actually get rid of the virus

“When you eat any kind of food whether it be hot or cold that food is going to go straight down into your stomach where there is a high acidity, low PH environment that also will inactivate the virus,” she said.

Are we sure about the police not getting wiped out? At least in terms of having to be on the sidelines until they recover.

Has anyone seen crime stats from across the country? Almost would have to be down right? At least violent crime I would think.

If people dont start to take this seriously those possible million reserves that were activated will be rolling down canal street in these soon.

This was on the Huey P. A friend of my mom took it. Said it was as far as you could see.

Are there any factories that build these in Louisiana? I know they used to build the APCs(Bradleys?) in the east. Anyone know if these are manufactured nearby?

I lived in Bridge City for years... I was also in the Army (Mech Infantry / Artillery)... and later a Reservist....

Those are M1 Abrams tanks. They get moved by rail whenever there is the possibility or likelihood of National Guard or Reserve Mobilization or Standby orders...

Since it's not a great idea (or cost effective) to drive them for mobilization maneuvers or staging functions on the Interstate or Highways... they get moved by rail.

Very common occurrence in any situation that might end in Reserve or NG deployments... including hurricanes, floods, large scale power outages, etc.

Nothing to get twisted over... yet.

Well yeah the boomers have to be involved in everything and GenZ thinks they are immune waiting for their participation medal. Gen X is sitting at home being the latchkey adults we were trained to be.
I don't fault Gen Z for the participation trophies. It's their parents who are giving them the trophies.

Every country has had to continually get more restrictive to really knock the curve down. I certainly saw the difference in New Orleans yesterday and in Illinois the day before that. HUGE difference. As soon as I jumped the border into places like Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee there were still people everywhere. I think it has to get real before people really get serious.

You may be right and I may be wrong, but the restaurants my kids work at both require gloves changed after touching anything not food. And they're not allowed to take cash directly from customers. They change gloves after each transaction. And always maintain 6 feet from customers. When they get home, wash hands then shower.

So, it might not be enough, but i can't say they've done nothing. Customers are not allowed to dine in, and direct interaction with customers is as limited as possible.

It's possible all of that isn't enough. Tbh, I'd rather it be a complete shutdown of restaurants. But it is what it is.

Talk to me when the number reaches 50%. It's currently running around 12% calling in sick. I imagine the number will go up, but I don't see it getting more than 25% unless something really out of the ordinary happens.

If I told you in November we would all basically be on house arrest except to by food and other necessities what would you have said? I bet you would have thought what is happening right now was nearly impossible.

I'm not defending the new world order thing. Just pointing out that civil unrest could spur things happening that non of us have ever seen before. Kind of like what's basically happened this entire year up to this point.

I was skeptical of a lot of the predictions early on, but have since realized I was wrong. I know you said, "basically" on house arrest, but as far I've seen, there are no imprisonments for venturing outside so I don't consider it house arrest. If you do, then that's your perspective.

All I was pointing out is how easily a pic can be copied by someone and made out to be more than it really is. But this happens all the time, even without a crisis situation. Hell, people get bent out of shape over some cryptic twitter a Saints player makes.

People think past can't repeat....or different times and government can't do it.

History certainly can repeat itself. But, in this case, I don't see it unless we completely, and I mean completely bungle the virus mitigation efforts. We're bungling it for sure in some areas, but when those governments realize their idiocy, they come around eventually. Usually costs a lot of lives, but it just takes longer to recover.
