Cant stress this enough, especially since we're mostly under stay at home orders, have hobbies. Seeing a lot of people IRL that are going stir crazy because they never took time to cultivate several hobbies. Most people all of a sudden just got a ton of free time. Most of us are going to live this life until june/july assuming everything goes perfect to isolation plans.

No, netflix isnt a hobby either.

My daughter is pretty introverted. She's basically given up on having friends over this year, because "they mess up her stuff". ha.

She's literally living her best life right now.

The boy is handling it well enough. My wife.. phew. She needs a freaking hobby.

So i want to get some opinions. My wife currently works at a hospital outside of New Orleans in an administration position. They have asked for “volunteers” to screen people coming into the hospital. They have a good bit of people in her department that are high risk so really they only have a handful of people volunteering. They are asking her to take the temp of people walking in. Granted it’s only a couple a hours a week. The first time she did it there were only maybe five people she screened. I don’t want her to lose her job but she feels obligated. Not in her job description at all. I already told her if she feels unsafe then to just walk out if she has to. She would never do it though. She is not getting the same PPE that nurses get. She had to call her one of coworkers to show her how to screen properly. No protocols or training. Should I ask her to not volunteer? I know i would volunteer but i would also make a big deal about no PPE or basic training. We are not sure exactly how many patients they have but two employees in a specialists office were sent home today with symptoms.

So Hobby Lobby went back and re-opened some stores illegally?

unreal.

I don’t buy their Christian act for a second. Greed is their Gospel.
I have no problem with religion bur I have a real problem with businesses that throw it in your face and use it as a part of their business strategy to make a profit

My best guess is that these people either had hidden underlying issues, or maybe they were exposed to very high viral loads for extended periods of time. But yeah, really no idea. It's baffling at times.
Thanks! I thought it might have something to do with the viral loads stuff........but it still makes me peeeeeeesed off & sad.

BTW hope that your daughter likes her new job. I have nothing but praise for Amazon.......always great customer service, always helpful when you have a question......and so FAST!!!!

Funny aside.....got a delivery from Walmart today, that they left on the front porch. Afterwards they sent me an email about a survey. I usually always delete surveys, but I answered it. One of the last questions was, “do you have Amazon Prime?”
???. I guess they are trying to compete with Jeff & his big time $$$ profits.

My friend's wife was in the EXACT same position. They asked me what I would do. Told them I would love to help out but not without proper PPE. It's a high pressure "voluntary" gig. She even had one of the board of directors of the hospital call her up the night before thanking her for the voluntary service of doing it even though she hadn't volunteered. Really forked up pressure tactic from one of the people that decided PPE stockpiles wasn't as useful as a higher salary for board members.

I heard a podcast where they interviewed Dr. Fauci and he frankly admitted that they are still missing something that makes the virus so aggressive in some people, that doesn't have to do with age or co-morbidity.
Thank you ??!

Yeah she makes a third of what a nurse makes. She knows one of the directors casually and asked her what she thought about the virus in general and she said the same ole “it’s just like the flu” response. This was three weeks ago or so and casual talk in the hallway but still. When she told me that i was upset and even told my wife how serious it was based on knowledge from this board. So yeah she is a little worried but i can’t be there to speak up for her.
