One of the states that opened recently that I (any many others) mentioned earlier in the week as doing things prematurely...

Our government is so pathetic

Hogan is using the state national guard to protect the health of his residents from the federal government. This really deserves more attention. I get that the President can nationalize resources in a pandemic, but governors also have pretty broad powers too. Hogan is basically using military and police to challenge that right should the President try to nationalize those tests.

Yep. And although Ebola is much harder to spread, that's mostly because it kills so fast. And, I'm sure there are many other viruses that can potentially be spread the same way.

Ebola, like AIDS can only be spread through exchange of.body fluids. Covid 19 has given the big middle finger to that way of transmission .

But, I would still be under lockdown as a stage 3 severely obese person as I’ve been stacking the leg workouts and back over the mark for Class 3 obese. Sweet. Jackpot. Does this mean I don’t get to go on my 20 mile bike ride I wanted to do today?

J.B. Pritzker in Illinois is doing the same thing. What's really a killer is that the Fed isn't just handing out the confiscated ppe to places that need them. The Fed is confiscating PPE and then giving it to "approved" companies who then sell it to the highest bidders.

Influenza can also produce symptoms for months. But it is widely believed that Flu patients are infectious for the entire time they have symptoms.

Sure, but the Flu doesn't destroy the small airways and lead to a potentially long term 25% reduction in lung capacity, right? I mean, we don't even know if that is permanent or can be treated or am I missing something?

No doubt. And it's a good thing that Ebola can only be spread that way because it is a really nasty and quick way to die. COVID is obviously not as deadly individually, but it spread much faster because it is relatively airborne. I'm just saying that various mutations of Cornonaviruses aren't the only viruses out there to worry about.

Does this happen regularly to people who have had COVID-19? Or is this a rare outlier?

I've been thinking Orleans would be averaging zero new cases per day by May 1. Didn't quite get there - I think we've averaged about 30 new cases per day this week. Seems to have flattened out.

I still think we hit all the marks for phased reopening but LaToya's not listening to me.
