Too bad these aren't available yet. 3 for 24.99. More people might wear them.

I'm planning to get a set of these, and a set of the Dallas Stars or Mavs.

The only way to get people to wear masks out in public / stores is for the stores to mandate it for entry. Without that mandate, half the people are going to go without masks (at least from what I've seen the last week or so).

You are right, but I think a lot of local stores are probably afraid of pissing off local customers. It's likely going to take an order from the Governor to get people to wear then in large enough numbers and to get people to continue wearing them.

Not bad, but I prefer these.

Gaiters

Probably will get this and the LSU one.

Agreed, although people seem to be getting better about it. Slowly.

We went to Harolds yesterday - a plant shop in the Marginy (an outdoor shop) and every single person had a mask on. I know it's the Marigny, so masks are probably already stylish, but it was outside. I was impressed.

I went to Dorignac's today. It actually looked like more people were wearing masks today than last week. Probably 70% had masks on where as it was more like 40% last week. Still, of that 70% I saw several people with them pulled below their nose, a few with them around their necks, and a few that just took them off when they got to the register. But social distancing was not really a thing. Part of that is because Dorignac's apparently refuses to go to one way aisles, but many people really just didn't care how close they got. And a few were in the store in groups of 3 people which is a bad idea when people are trying to stay 6 feet apart.

I get the idea of one way aisles, but people just ignore them. Even my wife was in Rouse's for 20 minutes and I had to point out the signs - she didn't even register them. Best thing would be just to widen the aisles, but obviously that's a liability for the stores and the products they carry. Costco is the best shopping experience so far - between the size of the aisles/store and limiting the number of people at a time. And masks required starting May 4.

I think we have hit the Phase I mark but to be fair, LaToya can't do anything until the Governor lifts the state wide order.

That being said, we went up to 48 cases today and Jefferson had 108 cases. The state as a whole had a 2.3% increase according to Jeff Asher. If that trend continues, none of us are going to get the loosening of restrictions that we want. Hopefully it's just a blip, but I just can't help but thinking that it's going to be a trend because people refuse to do simply things like social distancing and wearing masks.

i have started shopping at 7 am w the older folks. Because they are the ONLY ones seemingly willing to don the mask and shop.

Went to Home Depot yesterday ( Covington ) at around 12:30 pm....i was probably the only mask wearing patron. They had folks in there with kids just walking around shopping.

I dont know what else to say to this.

Funny too- we have about 40% of our close friends like us ( one Tulane exec, other CRNA here locally, and handful of others ). The other 60% of our close group think this is all blown out of proportion. I had to read a FB rant this am wife showed me from good friend. I simply said let him be lol. I dont even know how to have a fruitful conversation with these folks. They refuse to believe the science behind all of it and simply go with the narrative they are told.
He happens to be in the O&G and is linking issues there direct w/ Covid ( i dont have the strength to explain the real reason - but i am almost 100% he knows REAL reason )

its just tough because we continue to try to do the right thing with us, the kids ( missing their friends, hanging out etc ) yet have a set of folks that are just acting as if its not a big deal.

two friends now have lost a parent to COVID. It doesnt even phase the 60% other than sorry to hear that.

side note- my wife had friend sew up some masks. I was getting reversable LSU/Saints. SWEET.

they arrived yesterday. its GINGHAM print ( just the colors of LSU/SAINTS )

I feel like a drape from Pottery Barn.

Yeah, I will say that I went to Dorignac's in the afternoon last week and saw fewer masks where as I went around 9:00 a.m. this week and saw more masks. That could be due to there being more older people in the store this morning than in the afternoon last week.

I don’t know about the legality of it. But I know they wouldn’t be having the problem if they kept it under control in the first place. The rest of California is enjoying our beach access because we’re doing it responsibly. Local authorities have the power to keep it in check, if they choose not to, that’s on them and their citizens.

It's a perfect example of what will happen if people don't handle the loosening of restrictions responsibly.

Because the beach is closed. SMH.

"OMG, I'm going to lose my tan! What should I do?!"

Priorities.
