The level of applied ignorance out there right now is starting to get scary. Here in CA, there is more and more unrest and people starting to ignore distancing and restrictions. Businesses here in the Sacramento area are still following the guidelines by and large, but there are larger and larger pockets of people starting to voice and act out their level of unrest with the continued restrictions. I still think there are many more who see this for what it is, and know to keep holding back to keep their loved ones safe. I'm praying for folks in areas like GA and Texas, and hoping that summer holds back a significant wave of infections in those areas.

We are at Stay at Home orders until May 22nd, although they've relaxed them to allow more recreational activities, and then I think we'll be in the 1st Phase of rolling back out the economy. The governor seems to be indicating that it might be sooner than that though so we'll see.

We had our first case in late February, and along with the Bay area, our area has slowly been declining in new cases per day for 2-3 weeks. Most of the case load in CA is in southern CA at this point, where oddly the most protests are going on. I just don't understand it. All indications are that we are days to a few weeks away to a sensible roll out with contact tracing and targeted testing. Why people want to act the fool when we are almost on the downhill side of this first wave of infections is beyond me.

Some U.S. government military bombers flew over Uptown New Orleans this morning to pass over Children's and Touro. The knowledge that they could obliterate my house and family at a moment's notice was way more re-assuring than, say, giving me a no-interest break on paying my mortgage for a couple of months I guess.
And this fell off one of the bombers. For real, happens from time to time.

Not that I already trusted them much, but this just makes the trustworthy factor go down a lot more. Going backward at this time isnt a good way to protect state citizens.

Yep, from time to time the vibration around those inspection/access covers will cause the pin in the hinges to wear down and break the end where it is secured in the hinge. Before long the pin vibrates out and the cover is free as a bird. By the time the wear is that bad, usually it's time to drill out the attaching rivets and replace the hinge to fix it properly. Some mechanic has a nice little fabrication project today replacing that access cover.

Conspiracy theorists are starting to become a very dangerous entity in the middle of all of this mess. Whats worse is many seem to be fueling the protests. Also, there is a failure to understand how much more power a government gets under declaration of emergency.

Here in MD (specifically the DC metro area) folks are all wearing masks/gloves in the grocery stores and other open places.

A lot of folks are wearing masks outdoors just walking, exercising as well...I can't really complain about this area, it seems the vast majority of folks are taking this seriously....

This virus has brought out a lot of the stupid and ignorance in this country for sure...

It’s allergy season here and for some reason I’m dying this year with them. So I’ve started wearing one of my cloth masks for running and biking. I’m gonna stick to this. Good for Covid, good for allergies

Don't really know what this means, or the significance of it. Maybe someone can explain?

Basically the antibody test that we will need to realistically start to move forward is there and it’s 99.9% accurate. Unlike the ones they have been using with are as good as my free throw percentage. (5’8” with depth perception problems)

Good, I just hope the people administering the tests understand which are the accurate tests and get rid of the old ones. A 99% accurate antibody test is one I'm very much interested in doing.

My daughter works at an Amazon warehouse here and we just found out today 3 of the employees there have CV19. :covri:

And she's going to work tonight. I'm not really scared. Just concerned. She's doing what she can to protect herself at work. Fingers crossed.
